McKinnon Camera Messenger 13L

I’ve lost count of how many camera bags I’ve owned over the past 45 years, some good ones, some bad ones. This is, hands down, the best. Fits an insane amount of gear for a bag of this size with its ergonomics. Moderately weather resistant. Fits under an airplane seat. Good pockets. Dedicated memory card slots. Dedicated battery slots. Passport friendly pockets. External strap attachment loops, though not heavy duty. Reliable zipper. Nice elastic band “closure” while shooting on the go.

Comes in other sizes, but the 13 L is the right size. Buy on. Don’t look back.

I have the original McKinnon Cameras Messenger 9L and 13L. Both serve different purposes for me. Smaller one when I go on a smaller trip, bigger one for the international trip. I can fit my XH2 and XT2 and at least 2 zoom lenses,and some accessories. It's well built, water repellent. With some planning, I put a puffy jacket and mini umbrella and ipad Pro as well. Very versatile. I can put this inside my McKinnon backpack, and use the messenger back for local trip in country. Perfect setup fopr me. Clean look, works well.

Shipping was incredibly fast, and checkout was easy.

I initially tried a Peak Design Everyday Sling 6L, but found the front pocket unuseable (too tight), and the main body of the sling couldn’t fit my 70-200 vertically (which i wanted for quick chages).

After a great deal of research, I came across this bag, and: IT. IS. INCREDIBLE.

Not only does it fit my 70-200mm vertically (with camera body attached), but it also fits my 56mm and 16mm with room to spare.

The dedicated pockets for SD cards, batteries, and other knick-knacks keep me organized and enable me to quickly access everything I need.

The way the bag opens makes it simple to quickly switch lenses inside of the bag.

I love that it also fits my laptop.

I’m truly not sure how I can fit so much into such a compact bag.

Would buy again and will recommend to anyone looking for a good, compact camera bag.

I purchased this bag to carry a DSLR camera kit but ended finding another great use for it, to carry music accessories like guitar pedal, cables, spare strings, capo, batteries etc. I can also fit my iPad pro with the keyboard case included. Could not be happier with this bag. I even personalized it with a custom logo.

I was looking for a day bag to use with my new Z-8. This bag provided enough storage for my Z-8 and a NIKKOR Z 24-70 f/2. 8 (attached) and some extra gear. The bag seems well designed and built with quality materials. I am looking forward to having many years of use from it.
