Outset Jacket

I wanted a light jacket to take on a motorcycle tour when we stopped for the nights. Had to be packable, offer decent wind protection, and be comfortable. The Outset is excellent. Soft, stretchy, comfortable and has loads of attention to detail like the vented panels. I think it's terrific. My only concern (I have not had an issue) is that it may pick and show snags. If it doesn't, it will be just about the perfect lightweight jacket for spring, cool summer nights and early fall. FYI, I am a 43 chest and the large is a perfect fit.

Unclear why it’s oddly hard to find stylish windbreaker style water resistant jackets anywhere. That’s what brought me to Nomatic as a first time customer. First off, the detail and construction of the jacket is really unique. I’ve never seen a jacket constructed this way. Very unique.

When I tried on the jacket, I thought “no way is this resistant”. It seemed just too “light” feeling to be effective. Coincidentally, the day it came I was outside for a few minutes when monsoon like rain hit Chicago. I’d consider that scenario not a typical environment I’d expect a light water resistant jacket to hold up in (normal rain, sure).

I took off the jacket when getting home and I was almost completely dry. I hung up the jacket and it dried in maybe an hour-ish. So…yeah I don’t know what kind of dark magic is used on this jacket but I’m all in.

The Outset Jacket is the perfect mix of style and function. It’s lightweight, breathable, and keeps you comfortable in 40°–70° weather. The water-resistant fabric actually works, and the stretch panels make it super easy to move in. The inside is smooth and cozy, and it even folds into its own pocket to become a travel pillow.

I love this jacket, light weight, waterproof and medium warmth. This is my go to jacket to travel with, so convenient and easy to carry. It has deep side pockets, and a very handy left chest pocket along with inside zippered pocket. There are ingenious thumb holes in the sleeve to protect your hands from the cold or rain. Very well designed and well made and looks very nice on. I would highly recommend this as you do everything travel jacket. Another great Nomatic product!
