Nomatic Life Well Lived Warranty Policy
The Life Well Lived Warranty
A Limited Lifetime Warranty from NOMATIC
Our Philosophy
We design gear to keep up with your life. The Life Well Lived Warranty is our commitment to stand behind our products with honest, lasting support. When something goes wrong through no fault of your own, we'll work to make it right.
Our approach: repair first. Replace when repair isn't possible. Find a fair resolution when neither option is available. We believe in reducing waste, extending product life, and treating customers like the travelers, commuters, and adventurers they are.
Coverage at a Glance
The following table summarizes coverage periods. Full terms and conditions follow in the sections below. All coverage is for manufacturing defects only and is limited to the original purchaser.
| Product Category | Coverage |
|---|---|
| Bags, backpacks, luggage, slings, and camera gear | 5 years from original purchase date |
| Apparel, wallets, and accessories | 1 year from original purchase date |
| Replacement products | Remaining Coverage Period of original product. The warranty clock does not reset. |
| Maximum remedies per product | One (1) approved claim per original item purchased |
Important: Coverage periods are time-limited as shown above. All warranty remedies expire at the end of the applicable coverage period.
1. Year One: Full Coverage
For the first twelve (12) months from your original purchase date, NOMATIC covers verified manufacturing defects with the following:
- Prepaid inbound return shipping label provided by NOMATIC
- Outbound shipping for approved repairs or replacements covered by NOMATIC
- Repair or replacement at NOMATIC's sole discretion
Year One coverage ensures your gear performs exactly as intended from the start. If a manufacturing defect appears within the first year, we'll take care of it at no shipping cost to you.
2. Years Two Through Five: Limited Coverage
After the first year and through the end of the fifth year from your original purchase date, NOMATIC warrants bags, backpacks, luggage, slings, and camera gear against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal use conditions.
This is a limited warranty. All remedies, including repair, replacement, and store credit, expire at the end of this five-year period.
This warranty is non-transferable and applies to the original purchaser only. Products purchased secondhand, through unauthorized resellers, or received as gifts without valid proof of purchase may not qualify.
3. Apparel, Wallets & Accessories
Apparel, wallets, and accessories are covered for one (1) year from the original purchase date under the same terms as Year One coverage above, including prepaid return shipping for approved claims.
4. What's Covered
We cover manufacturing defects that materially prevent your product from functioning as designed. Examples include:
- Zipper failure caused by a defect in materials or construction (not extended use or overpacking)
- Seam or structural failure due to manufacturing defect
- Wheel or handle malfunction caused by an internal component defect
- Hardware failure under normal use conditions
All claims are evaluated by our warranty team based on submitted photos and documentation and, when necessary, physical inspection of the product. Determination of whether an issue qualifies as a manufacturing defect — versus normal wear, misuse, or accidental damage — is made solely at NOMATIC's discretion, with our goal being to treat our customers right and provide fair, honest support.
5. What's Not Covered
The following are not covered under this warranty:
- Cosmetic wear: scratches, fading, scuffs, or surface abrasion
- Fabric wear, coating breakdown, or UV degradation from extended use
- Zipper wear from extended use, aggressive handling, or overpacking beyond intended capacity
- Damage from misuse, abuse, overpacking, or unauthorized modification or repair
- Accidental damage
- Damage from extended periods in extreme temperatures, direct sun exposure or humidity, chemicals, solvents, sunscreen, or water exposure beyond normal conditions
- Failure to follow care instructions (see our Product Care Guide)
- Airline or carrier mishandling — please seek remedy directly with your airline or carrier first
- Lost or stolen items
- Products purchased secondhand or from unauthorized resellers
- Items marked as final sale, scratch & dent, or lost & found
6. How to File a Claim
To submit a warranty claim, visit our warranty portal at nomatic.com/pages/warranty and provide the following:
- Proof of purchase (see Section 12 for acceptable documentation)
- Clear photos or video showing the defect
- A brief description of when and how the issue appeared
Claims submitted without sufficient documentation may be delayed or denied. Our warranty team will review your submission and respond with a determination and next steps, including any applicable shipping instructions, as promptly as possible.
Shipping labels and instructions will only be issued after a claim has been reviewed and approved. Do not return a product before receiving approval and shipping instructions.
7. Shipping Policy
This shipping policy applies to bags, backpacks, luggage, slings, and camera gear. Apparel, wallets, and accessories are covered only during their 1-year period under Year One terms (prepaid inbound shipping, NOMATIC-paid outbound shipping); the After Year One shipping fees do not apply to those categories.
Packaging Requirements
All returned products must be shipped in a secure corrugated cardboard box. Return labels may not be applied directly to the product, luggage shell, dust bag, or retail packaging. Products returned without proper external boxing will be refused and returned to the sender at the customer's expense. NOMATIC is not responsible for damage incurred during transit due to improper packaging.
Year One (Months 1–12)
For approved claims submitted within the first twelve months of purchase:
- NOMATIC provides a prepaid inbound return shipping label
- NOMATIC covers outbound shipping for all approved repairs or replacements
After Year One (Month 13 Onward)
For approved claims submitted after twelve months, a flat inbound return shipping fee applies based on product type:
| Product Type | Flat Inbound Shipping Fee |
|---|---|
| Bags, backpacks, slings, and camera gear | $30 (contiguous U.S.) |
| Luggage | $50 (contiguous U.S.) |
| Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories | Additional fees may apply |
| International shipments | Customer responsible for all fees and duties, and NOMATIC may provide a regional distributor where products could be sent. |
- NOMATIC will issue a return label once the flat shipping fee has been paid
- NOMATIC covers outbound shipping for all approved repairs or replacements
- Flat shipping fees are non-refundable once a return label has been issued
- Customers are responsible for securely packaging their returned product. NOMATIC is not liable for items lost or damaged in transit due to improper packaging
8. Our Repair-First Commitment
Whenever possible, we repair. Repairing a product is better for the environment, better for the integrity of your gear, and a sign that we built something worth fixing. We prioritize repair over replacement at every stage of the claims process.
Repaired products are restored to functional condition. Repairs may include patches, visible stitching, or solutions that make the product work as intended, though not necessarily appear as new. NOMATIC's repair standard is functional performance, not cosmetic perfection.
If repair is not feasible due to part availability, the severity of the damage, or the nature of the defect, NOMATIC may, at its sole discretion, take one of the following actions:
- Replace with the same item if currently available
- Replace with a comparable current model, defined as a NOMATIC product of similar function and category as determined by NOMATIC. NOMATIC does not guarantee replacement with an identical model or a model of equivalent retail price
- Issue store credit per the schedule in Section 9
Customers may decline a proposed repair in favor of replacement or store credit; however, only one remedy is provided per product (see Section 10).
In some cases, NOMATIC may offer reimbursement toward a pre-approved local repair as an alternative to replacement or store credit. Reimbursements for local repair require prior written approval from NOMATIC's warranty team before the repair is performed. Unapproved repairs will not be reimbursed.
9. Store Credit & Replacement
When NOMATIC issues store credit as a warranty remedy, it will be in the form of a digital NOMATIC gift card.
Store credit is not a cash refund and cannot be exchanged for cash. Digital gift cards do not expire and can be applied to any purchase at NOMATIC.com.
Store credit is calculated based on the product's original MSRP at the time of purchase and the age of the product at the time of the approved claim:
| Product Age at Claim Date | Store Credit Value |
|---|---|
| 0 to less than 2 years | 100% of original MSRP |
| 2 to less than 3 years | 75% of original MSRP |
| 3 to less than 4 years | 50% of original MSRP |
| 4 years up to end of coverage period | 25% of original MSRP |
"Original MSRP" means the manufacturer's suggested retail price of the product at the time of the original purchase, as reflected on your proof of purchase.
Cumulative warranty remedies for a given product, across all claims, shall not exceed the original MSRP. Replacement products do not reset the warranty clock and assume the remaining coverage period of the original product.
10. Coverage Limits
Warranty coverage is limited to one (1) approved remedy per original product purchased. Customers may choose repair, replacement, or store credit (subject to NOMATIC's discretion under Sections 8 and 9), but only one remedy will be provided per product. Once a remedy has been fulfilled, that product's warranty coverage is considered satisfied. Additional claims on the same product, including for unrelated defects that develop later, will not be eligible.
If a replacement product arrives with a manufacturing defect, please contact us within 30 days of receipt. We will address the issue at no additional cost during that window.
All warranty remedies, including repair, replacement, reimbursement, and store credit, are limited to the defined coverage period and shall not exceed the original MSRP of the product.
11. Discontinued Products
If your product has been discontinued and an identical replacement is not available, NOMATIC will offer one of the following at its sole discretion:
- A comparable current NOMATIC model of similar function and category
- Store credit per the schedule in Section 9
NOMATIC does not guarantee like-for-like replacement of discontinued products. Store credit issued for discontinued products follows the same age-based schedule as all other warranty remedies.
12. Proof of Purchase
A valid proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims. Acceptable documentation includes:
- Original or digital receipt
- Order confirmation email
- Other documentation clearly showing the product name, purchase price, and original purchase date
Product registration is encouraged and expedites the claims process, but is not required as a condition of warranty coverage. Register your product at nomatic.com/pages/register.
13. Warranty Limits & Abuse Prevention
To protect the fairness of our warranty program for all customers, NOMATIC reserves the right to limit or deny claims where fraud, misuse, or abuse of the warranty program is suspected. This includes, but is not limited to, a pattern of excessive claims across multiple products from a single customer or household.
All determinations regarding eligibility, defect classification, repairability, replacement, and credit value are made at NOMATIC's sole discretion.
NOMATIC reserves the right to modify this warranty policy for products purchased in the future. The policy in effect at the time of original purchase governs that product's warranty coverage.
14. International Claims
International customers are responsible for all applicable duties, VAT, taxes, and customs fees associated with warranty returns and replacements. If NOMATIC does not ship directly to your country, a third-party forwarding address may be required. Please contact our support team at info@nomatic.com for guidance before submitting an international claim.
15. Your State Law Rights
This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights that vary from state to state. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so certain limitations above may not apply to you.
16. Definitions
Normal Use means use of the product for its intended purpose under typical travel, commuting, and daily carry conditions. This includes carrying items within the product's stated capacity; standard travel, commuting, and business use; exposure to light rain and typical weather; routine packing and unpacking; and reasonable handling and transport.
Normal use does not include:
- Overpacking beyond the product's intended capacity
- Industrial, commercial, military, or expedition use
- Dragging, throwing, or intentional impact
- Extended exposure to UV, submersion, harsh chemicals, or industrial environments
- Unauthorized modification, alteration, or third-party repair
- Neglect, improper storage, or failure to follow care guidelines
- Airline or carrier damage (seek remedy directly with your carrier)
Coverage Period means the time during which this warranty applies to a given product, measured from the original purchase date:
- Bags, backpacks, luggage, slings, and camera gear: five (5) years
- Apparel, wallets, and accessories: one (1) year
All warranty remedies expire at the end of the applicable Coverage Period. Replacement products assume the remaining Coverage Period of the original product and do not reset the warranty clock.
Original MSRP means the manufacturer's suggested retail price of the product at the time of the original purchase, as reflected on the proof of purchase.
Authorized Resellers means retailers or marketplaces that are expressly approved by NOMATIC to sell NOMATIC products. For a current list of authorized resellers, visit [authorized reseller URL]. Products purchased through unauthorized channels, including gray-market sellers and secondhand marketplaces, are not eligible for warranty coverage.
We design products to last. We back them with honest support. We stand behind our work.
