10 Things You'll Love About The NOMATIC Travel Pack

I love my Nomatic Travel Pack. I can't believe how much I've managed to pack and still have room for more.

I've been using it for everything from weekend getaways to big trips, and it's the perfect size. Not too big, not too small. Plus, it isn't so heavy that I need to get a sherpa to carry it up Mount Everest (not sure if they use sherpas). The Travel Pack is perfect for travelers who want a convenient and organized way to carry their belongings. So let's go over what makes this bag so unique & special.

Here are the Top 10 Things I LOVE about the NOMATIC Travel Pack!

#1 YKK Zippers Where You Need ‘Em

Zippers are the unsung heroes of your travel accessories. But, when they break, it can be a nightmare. When you're traveling, you never know what might go wrong—and when it does, you don't want to be stuck with a broken zipper and all your valuables falling out.

That's why we make our bags with YKK zippers.

YKK stands for Yoshida Kogyo Kabushikigaisha, a company founded in Tokyo in 1934 by Tadao Yoshida. The company became obsessed with perfecting zippers, vertically integrating every possible process to control every aspect of quality control, from smelting the metal for the zipper teeth to designing its own machines for manufacturing them. This type of quality control ensures that your bag will last for years to come!

 #2 An RFID Safe Pocket

I’m going to be honest here: the people at NOMATIC are obsessed with travel. We've been on the move for years, and we have our favorite routes and destinations down to a science. But, that doesn't mean we don't still get stressed out about what's going to happen when we get there.

One of the things that makes us nervous is the security of our information while traveling. If you've ever had your credit card or passport scanned at a kiosk while traveling, you know how easy it is for someone to steal that information through digital theft.

In today's world, it's more important than ever to protect your privacy and when you're carrying a passport and credit card around, it’s like storing a piece of your life in your pocket. And with good reason—the information on them could be scanned wirelessly and duplicated through digital theft.

The Travel Pack has an RFID (radio frequency identification) safe pocket that uses a layer of carbon fiber/aluminum called a Faraday Cage to block the electromagnetic signals from your card, helping to ensure your privacy when traveling.

#3 That Custom Matte Finish

NOMATIC's Travel Pack is more than just a backpack. It's a statement piece, and it's built to last.

It's been our mission to create a backpack that looks great, feels great, and is extremely durable. We started by taking a hard look at the materials we wanted to use—and how they were going to work together.

We chose 900d poly 5 pm coating for the Travel Packs because it gives the bag its flagship matte finish. Matte in nature isn't the most durable, so this coating was custom designed for NOMATIC to maintain durability & look amazing as you break it in. As you use your bag, you’ll notice that this finish provides attractive wear that distinguishes your bag as it ages.

#4 Movement: Materials Matter

If you've ever had a bag that was both too stiff or too floppy, you know how frustrating it can be to find the perfect balance of rigidity and flexibility —something that looks great, feels comfortable, and has the right amount of movement you need to get through your day.

The secret to our Travel Pack's design is in the materials.

The team here spent months in development working with our material engineers to create a bag with a consistent finish, no matter what thread diameter or material was used where on the bag. We even went so far as to use different types of nylon blended across different parts of the backpack so that some areas stayed rigid while others moved around freely (and without sacrificing durability).

That's why we put so much thought into the materials used in this bag. You can't tell by looking at it, but the Travel Pack hosts a plethora of different thread diameters throughout the bag while maintaining the same indistinguishable finish. Our design team underwent an exhaustive material selection process to preserve this consistent finish and required countless prototypes and reengineering to make it perfect.

This meticulous approach to materials gives you a bag that looks great and feels fantastic to use!

#5 Toiletry Nesting

In our line of products, we believe that everything should work seamlessly together.

When I'm traveling, I need all my toiletries to be as compact as possible. Most of the time I'm not going on some kind of epic journey. I just want to be able to pack up and go, without worrying about whether or not my bag will fit in the overhead compartment or under my seat.

That's why I love that all Nomatic products are built as an ecosystem, meaning they work seamlessly together. One of my favorite features is that the NOMATIC Small Toiletry Bag nests perfectly inside of the Travel Pack, taking minimal space for those weekend getaways.

This is just one example of how we've designed our products to work together, but it's a great way to show how easy it is to use our products and create your perfect custom travel setup.

#6 Packing Cube Functionality

When you're packing for a weekend, one of the biggest challenges is fitting all your clothes into your bag.

We've all been there: you're packing for a weekend trip, and you're trying to get everything into a bag that can't hold any more. You end up with a giant pile of clothes that looks like it could be used as a life raft for the Titanic, and you have to sort through everything just to find one thing.

But the problem doesn't have to be so hard. Packing Cubes are the perfect way to get organized and make sure you have enough room for anything else you need to take with you, too. They're basically magic in fabric form—they let you pack twice as much into half the space so that you don't have to pull everything out of your bag every time you want something.

The Travel Pack's mesh backing storage area makes it easy to organize your packing cubes by type of clothing—and because it has a pocket on the inside, you can even use it as a place to keep shoes separate from other items in your bag.

Put two packing cubes in the Travel Pack, and still have plenty of room left over for anything else you might need!

Pro tip: I put my NOMATIC Laundry Bag behind my laptop sleeve to separate my dirty clothes while traveling. When I'm at my destination, I simply hang it from a hook or doorknob wherever I'm staying.

#7 Easy Access Notebook Pocket

I'm a planner person. It's not even a question. I always have a planner or notebook handy because I believe that if you want to stay organized, you need to write things down. But, have you just been in the middle of something and realized, "Hey! I know I had that notebook right here somewhere." And then you start digging around, trying to find it?

Here's the thing: it's hard to keep track of where your notebook is if it's buried in your bag somewhere. You know what I'm talking about—you're digging around for something else, and suddenly you realize that your notebook is just… gone?

I know the feeling. I've been there.

Thanks to Travel Pack's notebook pocket, I can keep my NOMATIC Notebook and Planner handy without having to hunt for them like Velma from Scooby Doo whenever she loses her glasses.

All I have to do is open up the front pocket of my bag, and there they are!

It's so convenient—you have no idea how much time it saves me when I can just pull out my notebook or planner whenever inspiration strikes and jot down notes right away, instead of having to dig around all over looking for where I put it last.

  1. If you also have a tendency to lose your glasses, the travel pack also has a built-in glasses case. Problem Solved!

#8 Water-resistance

I have traveled quite a bit, and I can confidently say that my Travel Pack has been my most reliable travel companion. I've taken it everywhere, from South East Asia to New York City, and it has always come through for me. When I first started traveling, I was terrified of taking my laptop and other electronics with me. What if it got wet? Could I even trust a Backpack to keep my stuff safe from the elements?

If you've ever been in Southeast Asia during monsoon season, then you know how quickly those doubts can become real. And when you're working remotely on a blog post or editing content, having your laptop and clothes soaked isn't going to do you any favors.

That's why I love Travel Pack's Water-resistance so much—it lets me be out in the elements without worrying about water damage! If it gets rained on or splashed by waves while I'm at the beach or on the boat, there's minimal leakage, so everything stays dry and protected inside.

It makes me feel more comfortable being out in the elements—I just make sure not to take it swimming.

#9 Outstanding Versatility: Expansion & Carry Options

I don't always need to lug around a bunch of travel gear. But I need something that can handle my daily commutes and long-haul flights without looking like it belonged in a military surplus store.

The Travel Pack is sleek, simple, and stylish. When I'm making my daily commute to work and when I travel, the expandable design allows it to expand from a compact 20-liter size to a full-sized 30-liter pack, giving me the flexibility to carry everything I need for a day trip or a longer journey.

The versatility of the carry styles modes is amazing, depending on where I'm at and how much stuff I need to carry.

When I'm at the airport and have my Carry-On Classic and want to go hands-free, I tuck away the strap and use the pass-through back to rest my bag on my luggage. When I get to my destination and am exploring, the straps on the bag are padded with breathable mesh material, so they're comfortable to wear all day. Need a little more support?  I throw on the NOMATIC removable Waste Straps to take the load off my shoulders. When duty calls and I need to look a bit more professional, the straps tuck away, and the side handle allows an easy transition from backpack to briefcase carry style.

No matter the route, I’m covered.

#10 The Warranty

Have you ever bought a product that you just loved, and then it broke as quickly as you bought it? And then, when you tried to get someone from the company to help you fix it, it was a nightmare?

It sucks.

Why should I have to settle for subpar quality?!

I'm sure you've heard the saying, "you get what you pay for." And while that's usually true, sometimes it's not.

When you buy a quality bag, you want it to be something you can use for years to come. You want the craftsmanship to be solid, and you want the company that makes the bag to stand by its product.

Personally, I'm not looking to buy a cheap product that has a warranty and then have to deal with terrible customer service when something goes wrong.

Fortunately, the Travel Pack is as quality as they come and is backed by a company that stands behind its products. That's why I love it!

The NOMATIC Travel Pack comes with a lifetime manufacturer warranty, which protects against manufacturing defects in material and workmanship. But if your luggage takes a beating from travel or everyday use—because let's face it, sometimes we all take our bags through the wringer—they offer 3 different options for extended warranties so that you can rest easy knowing your purchase will be protected.

But even better than that? Their customer service team is amazing! If anything ever goes wrong with your bag, they're more than happy to work out a solution with you. Don’t forget to register your Bag!

Conclusion

In summary, the NOMATIC Travel Pack is a versatile and functional travel pack that is perfect for travelers who want a convenient and organized way to carry their belongings. The pack features a number of innovative design elements that make it stand out from other travel & everyday bags on the market. Built to last, with every feature meticulously thought out, it’s no wonder it’s our top seller.

We hope you enjoyed this list, and hope you know there are tons of features that weren’t covered in this blog. But, whether you own a Travel Pack or are looking to buy one in the future, we hope you learned something that will help make your travel experience that much easier and give you a good reason to take the long way home!
